Exams Officer – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role starting ASAP

Duties as Exams Officer:

  • Manage the administration of all internal and external examinations.
  • Liaise with exam boards, invigilators, teachers and senior staff to ensure timely arrangements.
  • Organise exam timetables, seating plans and access arrangements.
  • Prepare examination venues, materials and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with JCQ regulations and school policies.
  • Process entries, amendments and certification accurately.
  • Brief and support invigilators; oversee the secure storage and handling of exam papers.
  • Manage results days, including distribution, queries and follow‑up actions.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide reports as required.
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and ensure pupil confidentiality at all times.

Ideal Exams Officer:

  • Previous experience in an Exams Officer or exams administration role is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Confident using MIS systems and digital administrative tools.
  • Effective communication skills when liaising with staff, pupils and exam boards.
  • Calm, reliable and able to manage confidential information appropriately.
  • Proactive, adaptable and committed to maintaining high standards.
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being.
