Waltham Forest College has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted following its most recent inspection and has distinguished itself as one of only a small number of General Further Education Colleges across the country to achieve the prestigious ‘Outstanding’ rating. Waltham Forest College has been named one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2025, a testament to its exceptional employee experience and organisational culture. As an Anchor Institution, Waltham Forest College serves its local and regional communities across North and East London exceptionally well and has been successful in driving aspiration and achievements for its students and wider communities. We are proud to be ranked in the top 5% of GFE colleges nationally for student achievement
We believe that our employees are the heart of the organisation and having the right people in the right place, with the right skills is the key to our success. We are looking for committed individuals who are passionate about working in an aspirational and high performing college and dedicated to contributing to an outstanding experience for our learners.
We are looking for people who will provide support to the wider Examinations team with the day-to-day operation of examinations, including setting up rooms and adhering to all exam procedures before, during and after the exam.
Primarily we are looking to recruit invigilators to support the upcoming GCSE English and maths exams during May and June. The key dates for availability for these invigilation posts are: 14/5/26, 21/5/26, 3/6/2026, 5/6/2026, 10/6/2026. It will be essential to attend a training session ahead of these key dates, either on 29th April, 6th May, or 7th May.
The college runs technology based exams and assessments all year round and - for the right candidate with strong I.T skills – there may be opportunities made available to invigilate for these.
Ideally you will hold a qualification in Maths and English at Level 2 (e.g. GCSE), be an effective communicator, with excellent accuracy and attention to detail. Knowledge of JCQ rules and regulations would be preferable but training will be provided.
