Location: Leeds

Contract: Temporary to permanent (term time only). Monday to Friday (8:30-3:30)

Start date: ASAP

Salary: £90 - £95 per day (dependant on experience)

We are proud to be partnering with a specialist school dedicated to supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and helping them thrive both academically and personally.

As part of a dedicated and supportive team, you will play a key role in helping pupils develop emotional regulation, confidence, resilience and positive relationships.

The school delivers a highly personalised, therapeutic and engaging curriculum, designed to support pupils' social, emotional and academic development. They are now seeking an SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their committed team, working closely with pupils to promote engagement, wellbeing and positive behaviour in a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning
- Deliver engaging and structured learning activities that support emotional regulation and engagement
- Work closely with a dedicated pastoral and teaching team to support pupils' development and wellbeing
- Use a range of behaviour and communication strategies to support positive relationships and engagement
- Provide consistent emotional support and mentoring, promoting confidence and self-esteem
- Support pupils to develop coping strategies, resilience and positive behaviour throughout the school day
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or additional behavioural needs
- Strong patience, empathy and positive behaviour management skills
- Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation
- Willingness to support off-site activities and enrichment opportunities
- A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers and reach their potential
- Good understanding of safeguarding and accurate record-keeping
- Team Teach trained (or willing to undertake training)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent
