Do you want to become part of a team with a clear commitment to outstanding education and strong support for our students and one another? If so, we are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable mental health nurse academic, or an experienced clinician aspiring to academia, who is passionate about the future of the profession.

In this role, you will deliver engaging teaching, support clinical skills development, assess student learning, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of our curriculum. You will also provide academic and pastoral support to students, helping them to thrive in both academic study and practice placements.

At Senior Lecturer level, you will additionally provide academic leadership within programmes, lead curriculum development initiatives, mentor colleagues, and play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of mental health nursing education within the School.

Candidates should have up-to-date knowledge of mental health nursing, hold a minimum of BSc (Hons) and current NMC registration as a Mental Health Nurse and either have a recognised teaching qualification or HEA fellowship or be willing to work towards one, supported by the University.

Why join us?

At Birmingham Newman University, you will be part of a friendly team committed to delivering nursing education in innovative and student focused ways. Benefits include:
• A supportive and collaborative academic community
• Smaller cohort sizes for meaningful student engagement
• A single campus promoting accessibility and visibility of staff
• Brand new, state of the art simulation and therapy facilities
• A strong institutional ethos rooted in respect and social justice

If you are passionate about Mental Health nursing, committed to developing the next generation of professionals, and excited by the opportunity to shape a growing and dynamic School, we would be delighted to hear from you.
