Our Therapeutic Model
Cornerways Homes works in partnership with Meadows Psychology Service, a clinical psychology-led service supporting our homes.
This means:
• Each young person receives a psychological assessment within the first three months of placement
• Staff receive regular psychological consultation and reflective practice sessions
• Teams are supported to deliver trauma-informed strategies and therapeutic care
This provides staff with real clinical support when working with complex behaviours.
The Role
As Deputy Manager you will support the Registered Manager in leading the home and developing the staff team, ensuring high-quality care for young people.
You will help create a safe, structured and nurturing environment where children feel supported and able to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day leadership of the home
• Lead shifts and provide supervision and guidance to staff
• Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations & Quality Standards
• Support effective care planning, safeguarding and risk management
• Work closely with social workers, families and professionals
• Support staff development and reflective practice
• Contribute to quality monitoring and continuous improvement

We are looking for someone who:

✔ Has strong residential childcare experience
✔ Can support and lead a team effectively
Essential Requirements
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
• OR Level 4/5 in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
• Minimum 1 year experience at senior level within residential childcare
• Experience supervising or supporting staff
• Strong safeguarding knowledge
