Role Overview
We are looking for compassionate, dependable, and experienced Residential Children’s Workers to join our team in Bedford, supporting vulnerable children and young people in residential care settings. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference, helping young people build confidence, develop independence, and flourish in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver day-to-day care, emotional support, and positive guidance to children and young people, promoting their overall well-being
Encourage the development of key life skills, including independence, self-esteem, and social interaction, through personalised care plans and activities
Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing home environment, adhering to safeguarding policies and high standards of care
Work collaboratively with a dedicated team to ensure consistent, high-quality support and share best practices
Engage in ongoing training and professional development to strengthen your skills within residential childcare
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience working with vulnerable children or young people in residential settings
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A caring, resilient, and proactive approach with a genuine commitment to supporting young people
Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (desirable but not essential) and willingness to complete further training
