Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Setting: Specialist SEMH School (Ages 8 - 16)
Start: Summer Term 2026
Contract: Full‑time, Temp‑to‑Perm Opportunity

About the School

We are proud to be supporting a welcoming, forward‑thinking SEMH specialist school for pupils aged 8 -16. This nurturing environment places each child at the heart of their learning journey, combining strong pastoral care with an individualised, therapeutic, and trauma‑informed approach.

The school delivers a carefully adapted mainstream‑style curriculum tailored to pupils with SEMH and ASD needs. Their mission is to help learners rebuild confidence, rediscover the joy of learning, and develop essential life skills in a safe, structured, and supportive setting.

The Role

We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic ICT Teacher (SEMH) to join the school from the Summer Term. For the right candidate, this position has the potential to transition into a permanent role.

In this rewarding role, you will:

Teach engaging ICT/Computer Science lessons across KS2-KS4, personalised to each learner's needs.

Plan creative, accessible, and differentiated lessons that inspire students to thrive with digital skills.

Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapy, pastoral, and behaviour specialists.

Help maintain a calm, consistent environment rooted in positive relationships, structure, and trust.

Support young people with SEMH needs through nurturing communication, predictable routines, and restorative approaches.

This role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys adapting content, exploring innovative digital tools, and building strong, supportive relationships grounded in trauma‑informed practice.

About You

A qualified ICT/Computer Science Teacher (QTS or QTLS).

Experienced or confident working with SEMH, ASD, or complex needs.

Able to blend structure with creativity to deliver purposeful, engaging lessons.

Reflective, resilient, and motivated by helping young people grow.

Someone who believes wholeheartedly in the power of encouragement, consistency, and connection.

Experience within SEMH settings is an advantage, but not essential. What truly matters is your positivity, adaptability, and passion for supporting young people.

Why Join This School?

This school is committed to:

Providing tailored support that meets each pupil's individual SEMH needs.

Creating a motivational and therapeutic learning environment.

Offering excellent training, pastoral support, and genuine development opportunities for staff.
