and live. We are relentless in our pursuit of the very best for all our students. We understand challenges but do not accept them
as limitations. Welling School is an all ability, co-educational 11-18 school, located in the London borough of Bexley. As well as
serving our local community we welcome students from a diverse range of backgrounds and areas. Each of them bringing their own
part to make up the Welling School Community. We are proud to be part of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT) which is one of the
largest Multi Academy Trusts in South East England with over 40 Primary and Secondary Academies in the TKAT family. As well as
ensuring our students are knowledgeable and confident at Welling our shared values are to be: Ambitious Kind Active See our
website for further information about the school www.wellingschool-tkat.org

The Role: We are looking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic colleague to join our team of committed and dedicated
professionals who will do whatever it takes to help our young people achieve great things - beyond expectations. As part of the
Behaviour and Engagement team you will be working to ensure we maintain a calm and orderly learning culture where students are
well supported to meet high expectations and be brilliantly successful. We are looking for an individual with the ability to build
strong, supportive and effective relationships with pupils, staff and parents. Someone who can create a variety of strategies to
support and mentor pupils to re-engage them with their learning. Initially working as part of a team to ensure day to day high
standards of conduct and engagement this role will involve one-to-one and group work support which helps pupils develop excellent
skills in self-regulation and effective organisation - all contributing to ensuring individual engagement and building a
successful and ambitious future. We believe all adults are role models and this role will be no different. Whether helping to
ensure students are in the right place at the right time, helping to resolve a difficulty, providing information and advice or
supporting students to overcome barriers - this high profile, extremely rewarding role requires a calm, professional approach with
high levels of emotional intelligence, energy and drive. Through regular and meaningful contact, you will forge profitable and
trusting relationships that inspire confidence. Our new colleague will have an unstinting belief that every young person, whatever
their starting point or circumstances, can make and sustain exceptional progress and that our purpose is to change lives. You will
work hard to understand their individuality and help resolve barriers to their achievement - making a real difference to our
students and our community. No two days will ever be the same - although they will always be rewarding and exciting. Your previous
experience in an educational setting is less important to us than your experience of working with young people and your ability to
understand their perceptions and individuality. We are keen to hear from interested colleagues from a variety of relevant
backgrounds. Because you have a calm, personable and patient manner and because you are consistent, persistent and interested in
them you will know why that is. Above all our new colleague will have an unstinting belief that every young person, whatever their
starting point or circumstances, can make and sustain exceptional progress and that our purpose is to change lives. You will have
access to on-going development opportunities and the support of a forward thinking, successful multi-academy trust. You will be
joining a team of strong and experienced staff who will do whatever it takes to help you to succeed in your new and exciting role.
As well as having a passion for young people and their futures our colleague will: be an approachable warm professional with the
ability to foster excellent relationships be resilient and determined with excellent attention to detail have a high level of
emotional intelligence wand the ability to understand people and their own contexts bring an unwavering commitment to doing
whatever it takes have the ability to engage and inspire others be a resourceful problem solver To be tenacious and well organised
with good time management This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly ambitious team of staff and make a real impact on our
students’ lives.
