A nurturing and inclusive school in Yelverton is looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs and help them feel confident, understood, and successful in their learning environment.
You'll be working closely with children who may have Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH needs, or other learning differences, providing tailored support both in and out of the classroom.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
- Assist children with EHCPs to access lessons and school routines
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Adapt classroom activities and resources under teacher guidance
- Encourage independence, communication, and social development
- Monitor pupil engagement and report progress to teaching staff
- Help create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Your consistent support will play a key role in helping pupils build confidence and achieve their potential.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, care, youth work or similar)
- Is patient, resilient, and nurturing
- Communicates clearly and works effectively as part of a team
- Is confident supporting individuals and small groups
- Is willing to assist with personal care if required
- Holds an Enhanced DBS (or is willing to obtain one)
- £14.15 per hour
