Our client, a renowned educational institution in Yelverton, Devon, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team and support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a full-time position, offering a competitive hourly rate of £14.15 per hour.

As a Teaching Assistant - SEN, you will play a vital role in fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for our students. You will work closely with our teaching staff, providing invaluable assistance in the classroom and ensuring that each student receives the individualised attention and support they deserve.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN, tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs and learning styles.
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement effective lesson plans and strategies that cater to the diverse abilities of our students.
- Assisting with the preparation and adaptation of teaching materials, ensuring they are accessible and engaging for students with SEN.
- Monitoring student progress, maintaining detailed records, and communicating regularly with teachers and parents/carers to provide updates on student performance and development.
- Participating in professional development opportunities and staying up-to-date with the latest teaching methodologies and best practices in SEN support.
- Fostering a warm, nurturing, and inclusive environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic growth of our students.
- Providing personal care and support to students with physical, medical, or behavioural needs, as required.
- Ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all students, adhering to our client's policies and procedures.

- Relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with a focus on supporting students with SEN.
- A strong understanding of the diverse needs of students with special educational requirements and the strategies and interventions that can be effectively implemented to support their learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and teaching staff.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
- A flexible and adaptable approach, willing to take on a variety of tasks and responsibilities as needed.
- A genuine commitment to promoting the wellbeing and development of all students in our care.
