(Venue opening hours will be 10am - 12 midnight - working a varying roster)

Birmingham Museums Trust is looking for a Food & Beverage Manager (Craft & Culture) to join our team based at The Museum of The Jewellery Quarter.

You will lead and own the delivery of the guest experience at Craft & Culture, overseeing the full day-to-night offer across coffee, craft beer and wine. Your focus will be on creating a welcoming, high-quality environment that reflects our values of craft, creativity and community, ensuring every guest receives a consistent and memorable experience.

You will ensure the venue is commercially strong, delivering against agreed sales and profitability targets while maintaining exceptional levels of customer service. This includes driving revenue through a well-curated drinks offer, events and private hire, and ensuring the operation runs efficiently and sustainably.

You will manage and develop the front-of-house team, supporting them to deliver great service, strong product knowledge and a positive team culture. As the business grows, you will play a key role in shaping team structure, recruitment and capability to support future expansion.

Success in this role will be measured through financial performance, including revenue growth, margins and operational efficiency, alongside guest satisfaction, team engagement and the successful delivery of events and experiences that build our reputation within the local community.

What we are looking for:

Previous experience of contributing to the development and delivery of a commercial and operational action plan focused on sustainable growth, profitability and continuous improvement.
Previous experience of line managing and supporting a team,
Ability to review the drinks and events offer to ensure Craft Beer, Wines & Cocktails remains relevant, commercially competitive and aligned with customer demand and brand positioning.
Ensuring all aspects of the operation meet current legislative and safety standards, including food hygiene and health and safety.
Take ownership of compliance processes, including food safety, licensing and responsible retailing, working with external partners and suppliers where required.
Manage stock control, ordering, supplier relationships and invoice reconciliation to ensure strong financial control, minimise waste and maintain accurate reporting.
Lead the effective use of EPOS and business systems to ensure accurate sales data, stock tracking and performance analysis to inform decision-making.
Support the delivery of key events, private hire and programming, including evenings and weekends, ensuring a consistently high standard of guest experience during busy and high-profile periods.
Contribute to the growth of the business by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, increase revenue and strengthen the overall guest journey.
