Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Operative to support works on a National Grid substation project in Melksham. This is a short-term contract opportunity within a live energy infrastructure environment.
The successful candidate will assist with mechanical installation and site-based activities, ensuring works are carried out safely and in line with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support mechanical installation works within a substation environment
- Assist with equipment positioning, assembly, and general mechanical duties
- Work closely with site supervisors and engineers to meet programme deadlines
- Maintain high standards of health & safety at all times
- Ensure tools, plant, and work areas are kept organised and compliant
Essential Requirements:
- NG Authoridsed NSI2 Competent Person
- Previous experience working on infrastructure or energy projects in HV substation environments
- Experience within substations or high-voltage environments advantageous
- Strong understanding of site safety procedures
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
This is a strong opportunity to gain further experience on a major UK transmission site.
