Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Qualified Indian Lawyer to join our India Desk team specialising in the India Desk. The successful candidate will provide legal expertise and support related to Indian laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and facilitating smooth legal operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong negotiation skills to contribute to our organisation’s legal strategies and client engagements.
Responsibilities
Provide expert legal advice on matters pertaining to Indian law and regulations specifically regarding trade mark . copy rights and franchise agreements.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Assist in the development of legal strategies aligned with organisational goals.
Conduct legal research to stay updated on changes in Indian legislation affecting the organisation’s operations.
Liaise with external legal counsel in India as required.
Support compliance initiatives by ensuring adherence to relevant legal standards and policies.
Prepare reports and summaries of legal issues for internal teams and management.
Participate in negotiations to secure favourable terms and minimise legal risks.
Qualifications
Qualified lawyer with a recognised law degree and valid practising certificate to practice in India
Proven experience in corporate law, commercial law, or related fields.
Strong negotiation skills demonstrated through previous roles or projects.
Excellent analytical abilities with attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and preferably Hindi , Tamil and other Indian languages.
Organised, proactive, and able to work independently within a dynamic environment.
