The fellowship is designed to provide the fellow with the necessary supervised and independent experience in order to be ready for an independent consultant practice.

The fellow will be expected to work towards progressive autonomy and the aim would be to provide the opportunity of an independent supervised Saturday operating list suitable for their skillset and parallel to another consultant in order to develop their operative and theatre management skills.

In addition to clinical commitments, there is also an expectation for the fellow to work towards the production of one research paper related to knee surgery and the research program of the knee unit, which the fellow will have one-to-one guidance in order to complete and submit to a relevant journals/conference.

The fellow will have the opportunity to attend cadaveric workshops in order to familiarize themselves with the latest implants and techniques relevant to arthroscopic/open knee surgery and arthroplasty.

The fellow will also be expected to contribute to the regional Arthroplasty MDT with attendance and participation.

The post is a one year fellowship commencing in April 2027
