Are you passionate about helping people take the next step in their education or career?Do you thrive in a collaborative environment, working with local services and external providers to ensure individuals receive the support and guidance they need?If so, we invite you to apply for the role of Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Advisor within our Adult Education Service.
About the Role
- Develop and maintain an effective referral system for information and advice, collaborating across the Lifelong Learning Service, council, and external providers.
- Maintain a comprehensive, up-to-date resource base covering careers, learning opportunities, and support programmes.
- Liaise with local partners in the Information, Advice and Guidance Partnership to ensure a cohesive network of advice services, referring individuals to appropriate support when needed.
- Signpost adult learners to the most appropriate programmes within Adult Learning.
- Work with young people aged 16-25, helping them progress into education, employment or training through tailored guidance.
- Represent Lifelong Learning at careers fairs and employer events, promoting our services and opportunities.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Experience in providing information, advice, and guidance, ideally within an educational or careers context
- Commitment to supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and with varying needs
- A proactive approach to teamwork and partnership working
- Experience of providing advice and guidance to adults/young people (minimum 2 years).
- A relevant Advisor qualification e.g. Advice and Guidance L3 or above
The role is casual up to 20 hours per week (as and when required), which would include a day in the office (Wandsworth) and also attending local events when required across Wandsworth.If you meet the criteria outlined above and would like to register your interest please submit your current CV via the application link.
