Summary

Slough Borough Council is seeking an experienced interim to lead a focused review of its Information and Advice (A&I) provision, ensuring it meets its statutory duties under the Care Act 2014 while delivering a more holistic, accessible and inclusive offer for residents.

The review will assess current A&I services across Slough, working collaboratively with voluntary, community, public and independent sector partners to map provision, identify gaps, trends and community assets, and improve access for underrepresented and hard-to-reach groups. This includes residents who require face-to-face support, language or literacy assistance, informal trusted settings, or help with form filling.

The interim will produce a clear set of recommendations and a practical blueprint for improvement, potentially including strengthened partnership or compact arrangements within the VCSE sector. The work will inform Adult Social Care transformation, including the “Front Door” model and CQC Improvement Plan.

The role requires strong project and change management experience, a track record of delivering outcomes in complex environments, expertise in co-design with stakeholders and service users, excellent analytical and communication skills, and a firm commitment to equality and inclusion.
