Location: Trinity Road, Bootle, Merseyside, L20 3NJ
Hours: 36 per week

About the Client
Sefton MBC’s Children’s Social Care Service provides statutory safeguarding, assessment and support for children and families across the borough. Their teams are committed to delivering high‑quality, relationship‑based practice that promotes safety, stability and positive outcomes.
The Role
A Level 3 Social Worker is required to provide temporary cover during a period of secondment. The postholder will manage a varied caseload of children and families, undertaking statutory assessments, delivering safeguarding interventions and contributing to multi‑agency planning. This role requires strong analytical skills, confident decision‑making and the ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced frontline environment.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake Child and Family Assessments in line with statutory guidance.
Manage cases involving Child in Need, Child Protection and Looked After Children.
Lead Section 47 enquiries and contribute to multi‑agency safeguarding processes.
Prepare high‑quality reports for meetings, reviews and legal processes.
Undertake direct work with children and families to inform assessment and planning.
Maintain accurate, timely case records in accordance with policy and legislation.
Work collaboratively with partner agencies to support safe and effective outcomes.
Participate in team meetings, supervision and service development activity.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
Experience in statutory children’s social care, including safeguarding and assessment.
Strong communication, report‑writing and relationship‑building skills.
Ability to manage a demanding caseload and work to statutory timescales.
Full compliance documentation required.
