Claims Customer Service Team Leader - 12 month FTC

Working Hours - Monday to Friday - 9am - 17:30pm

A well‑established and rapidly growing organisation within the legal expenses and commercial liability insurance market is seeking an experienced Claims Team Leader to join its expanding Manchester-based Claims function on a 12 month FTC. This is an exciting time to join a business with ambitious growth plans and strong career development prospects.
The Claims Team Leader will lead, develop, and support a team of 4 Claims Handlers, ensuring all claims are managed efficiently, accurately, and with exceptional customer service. You will play a key role in operational performance, team capability, governance standards, and resource planning.
Key Responsibilities
Allocate and oversee workloads across the Employment Claims team, ensuring high performance and delivery.
Ensure accurate reserving, strong indemnity spend control, and proactive claims management.
Regularly assess team structure and future resource requirements, supporting recruitment where needed.
Provide clear communication, expectations, and support to the team, while listening and responding to their needs.
Deliver internal and external reports within agreed deadlines.
Complete and oversee Claims Quality Audits, Peer Reviews and other governance checks, ensuring actions are tracked and completed.
Manage relationships with stakeholders, ensuring they receive timely and accurate claims information.
Keep up to date with industry changes and communicate these effectively to the team.
Handle informal complaints before escalating formal matters.
About You
Insurance industry experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
A proactive, innovative Team leader who continuously looks for more efficient ways of working.
Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to guide and support others.
Analytical mindset with the ability to draw conclusions and take appropriate action.
