Location - Manchester
Working Hours - Monday to Friday - 9am - 17:30pm
Salary - £29,000

A well established organisation within the legal expenses and commercial liability insurance market is seeking an Insurance Claims Handler to join its growing team. This role offers the chance to be part of a business experiencing significant expansion, providing strong development opportunities for the right individual.

About the Role

As a Claims Handler, you will deliver a market leading claims service, ensuring all claims are assessed accurately, managed efficiently, and handled in line with policy wording. You will be responsible for your own caseload, liaising with clients and internal specialists to achieve fair, timely and cost effective outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

* Review insurance claims including Tribunal papers and available evidence, making accurate decisions aligned with policy wording.
* Liaise directly with clients to ensure timely and well communicated decisions.
* Manage your own workload effectively, balancing claims of varying priority levels.
* Monitor claim progress and collaborate with Liability Consultants to secure strong outcomes for clients.
* Review and respond to settlement contribution requests from Litigation Consultants.
* Assess unsuccessful Tribunal cases against HR advice logs to determine policy coverage.
* Apply accurate reserving in line with methodology and ensure all claims data is recorded correctly.
* Provide excellent customer service and ensure fair treatment throughout the claims journey.

About You

* Experience working in Insurance would be beneficial however not essential if you come from a customer service financial services background this could be a good move for you
* Organised, able to prioritise, and comfortable managing a busy caseload.
* Strong communication skills, including handling difficult conversations.
* Team oriented yet capable of working independently.
* Proactive, positive and committed to delivering high quality claims handling.
* Able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
