A rare opportunity for a Specialist District Nurse Practitioner position in Wareham, Purbeck.

We are an integrated team across Purbeck and in our rural locality we work very closely with other colleagues and services to get the best outcome for our patients. There is much focus at the current time on the future of the Integrated Neighbourhood Health which you will be contributing to the development of.

You’ll need a good understanding of the community healthcare agenda; you’ll be using excellent communication, decision making and leadership skills. You’ll be supported to provide high quality and critical clinical care, management of team members and caseload management for patients in the community setting. You’ll need experience in caseload management and have a track record of being able to prioritise your work whilst advising others on theirs. The role is diverse, challenging and extremely rewarding.

Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.

The role also involves being a member of the senior team for the locality, co-ordinating care and workloads, managing and leading the community nursing teams with the guidance and support of the District Nurse Locality Lead.

You must be committed to advance your own clinical knowledge, skills and competence based on current evidence, through advanced educational programmes.

To assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist treatment and care to people on an allocated caseload; promoting independence and autonomy; working within a multi-disciplinary team. Plan, implement and review health improvement programmes in a range of settings.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

For the main duties and responsibilities for this role please read the attached job description and person specification. When completing your application please ensure your supporting statement reflects the criteria set out in these documents by showing how your experience and skills apply to this post.

We understand that using AI can be a useful and supportive tool when completing your application. However, we have also seen an increase in the over-reliance of AI tools which is negatively impacting applications as they remove candidate’s individuality, and it becomes much harder to get a sense of who you are and your authentic experience. If you do use AI, it should be used to enhance your application and not to create your supporting statement in its entirety. If we suspect you have used AI to create your supporting statement and this does not match your experience, we may withdraw your application.

We offer an employability service to support individuals with application writing, interview skills and other employment support.
