The Role – Lead Veterinary Surgeon
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will play a pivotal role in driving clinical excellence, leadership, and team development. This is a hands-on role combining clinical work with leadership responsibilities, ideal for an experienced vet who enjoys mentoring and influencing best practice.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing high-quality veterinary care across a varied small animal caseload
• Leading clinical governance and maintaining exceptional clinical standards
• Confident interpretation of diagnostics and clinical decision-making
• Supporting and mentoring veterinary colleagues and nursing teams
• Working closely with the Practice Manager on rota planning, wellbeing, and operational decisions
• Promoting a positive, collaborative, and supportive team culture
• Delivering outstanding client care and communication

• Well-equipped small animal first opinion practice
• On-site emergency care 24/7, 365 days a year
• Excellent facilities including dental x-ray, laparoscope, and gastroscope
• Supportive clinical team, including vets with postgraduate certificates
• Strong administrative and management support, allowing you to focus on clinical work
