HMPPS B6 - Lead Analyst - DoCOD Digital Team
Background
The Digital Team within DOCOD, has been responsible for implementing the digital elements of the new Prison Education Service. Learning in prisons is undergoing a complete transformation through the introduction of this new service, as part of a renewed push to skill up offenders and protect the public. The initiative supports our manifesto commitment to increase prisoner access to purposeful activity.
As part of these commitments, the Digital Team plays a key role in supporting various aspects of the Prison Education Service—one of the most critical being the provision and analysis of data used to manage the new contracts.
The team has led the introduction of an innovative IT system called the Digital Education Platform (DEP), which is now deployed across all 103 establishments delivering the Prison Education Service. This system revolutionises education delivery by providing internet access for teachers and enabling a range of online activities for prisoners, including online exams and assessments. It also offers a modern operating system and a suite of software that aligns with the standards of most community-based training environments.
Over the coming months, we will continue to enhance the digital offer in prisons. Through our data analysts, we will demonstrate the impact these changes are having on the new contracts and on prisoners engaged in education.
This role will support and embed the new digital service into mainstream delivery. The focus will be on managing the data and analytical requirements of the Prison Education Service. The newly developed Curious 2 data and IT reporting functionality will be central to this work, alongside broader support for the Contracts Team.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to expand their portfolio to include digital expertise.
