The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join New City College at our Hackney campus as a Finance Systems Project Analyst. You will play a key role in implementing and developing our new Financial Management System (FMS), shaping how financial data is managed, reported and used across the organisation. Working closely with Finance, IT, MIS and external system partners, you will help deliver a smooth transition to the new system, strengthen data quality and provide expert support to colleagues across the College.
New City College is the largest college group in East London, and our Hackney Campus is a vibrant, diverse and welcoming place where staff play a vital role in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment. The campus is extremely well connected, making it easy to reach for both staff and students. It is located on Falkirk Street, London N1 6HQ, just a short walk from Hoxton Overground Station and within easy reach of Old Street and Shoreditch. The area is served by several local bus routes, offering convenient travel options across East and Central London. The campus also benefits from secure bike storage and good pedestrian access, providing flexible commuting choices for staff.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will support the successful implementation of the new FMS, ensuring a smooth transition and providing high quality support to users. You will manage day to day system administration, including user access, security roles, document templates and configuration. You will extract, transform and upload data from legacy systems, lead data migration and archiving activities, and maintain strong data quality controls through troubleshooting, audit checks and exception management.
You will develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards and business intelligence outputs to support budgeting, forecasting and audit requirements. You will also support reconciliations across key data sources and strengthen system controls to ensure financial information remains accurate and reliable. The role involves working collaboratively on chart of accounts design, structure mapping, testing and process improvements, while identifying opportunities to streamline data flows and enhance system performance.
You will design and deliver training, produce guidance materials and establish user groups to support effective system use. The role also contributes to audit responses, ensures compliance with GDPR and College policies, and safeguards system integrity through regular monitoring and review.
Who You Are:
You will bring strong experience of working with financial systems and a solid understanding of core finance processes such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and budgeting/forecasting. You are confident working with large datasets and advanced Excel tools, and ideally have experience with Power BI or SQL. You enjoy solving problems, improving processes and working collaboratively with colleagues across different teams.
You communicate clearly, build positive working relationships and can explain technical concepts to non technical users. You are organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. Above all, you are committed to supporting high quality financial information, strong system controls and a positive user experience across the College.

Interview date@ 09/03/2026About New City College:
New City College is proud to be an Ofsted Outstanding college, the largest in England to receive this top rating. With campuses across east London, south-west Essex, and two language schools, we are a sector leader in further education.
Joining NCC means becoming part of a forward-thinking, collaborative team committed to delivering high-quality education and skills that benefit our students and communities. We offer industry-standard facilities, expert staff, and strong partnerships with leading organisations. Our focus on future-ready skills and technology ensures students are well-prepared for higher education or employment, and employers trust us for staff training and development.
Following the merger of seven colleges, NCC has become one of the UK’s most influential FE providers, offering sixth form education, adult learning, apprenticeships, ESOL, EFL and SEND. With a turnover of £130 million, 20,000 students and 1,800 staff, we are a major force in the sector.
We are proud of our inclusive, diverse community and have a zero-tolerance approach to racism and discrimination. As we look ahead, we remain committed to investing in our people and resources to provide an excellent, supportive learning environment that meets the needs of both students and employers.
We are committed to building a workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve and actively welcome applications from candidates from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds. This does not prevent any other candidate with or without a protective characteristic from applying for our jobs.
As the College supports a number of children and vulnerable adults, all staff are exempt from Section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Accordingly, all staff will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check, along with a check of the Children’s Barred List if engaged in regulated activity. Any offers of appointment may be withdrawn if these checks prove unsatisfactory. Self-disclosure will be required as part of the recruitment process. Failure to make a full disclosure or to provide sight of your DBS certificate may result in the withdrawal of your offer of employment. The College's DBS policy on the recruitment of ex-offenders is available upon request.
