Pinnacle Group are looking for a skilled Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team. Reporting directly to the Group Reporting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely financial information, managing the annual audit process and preparing year-end financial statements for filing. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional to contribute to a growing organisation while ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and statutory requirements.

Our Finance Team is part of our Central Services, providing expert support to all areas of the business. They help ensure our operations run efficiently, embrace best practice and stay financially strong – enabling our teams to deliver on our mission to Transform Communities and Change Lives.

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with significant audit experience and experience in liaising with auditors. You will possess strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Experience with CaseWare is highly desirable, along with a proven ability to manage complex financial reporting processes across multiple entities.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who, alongside the key criteria below, will sign up to our values of Trust, Respect, Involve, Challenge and Deliver Excellence and will be determined to maintain the confidence of our clients and communities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Support monthly close, consolidation process, quarterly shareholder reporting, statutory financial reporting, and annual audit activities.
  • Research technical accounting guidance and provide conclusions on complex accounting topics.
  • Manage year-end audit planning and timetables, maintain entity lists, and ensure engagement letters are in place.
  • Ensure compliance for entities not requiring audit by filing accounts at Companies House, including dormant and small company exemptions.
  • Prepare financial statements for 28+ entities and assist with group consolidations using CaseWare (experience highly desirable).
  • Handle audit field queries from inception to resolution and ensure timely filing of signed accounts at Companies House.
  • Review group investments and goodwill for potential impairments as part of year-end processes.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS standards:
    • IFRS 9: Work with AR team on credit risk adjustments, monitor calculations, and prepare intercompany realignment journals.
    • IFRS 15: Collaborate with Ops, Legal, and Data Analytics to apply the 5-step revenue recognition process and document invoicing.
    • IFRS 16: Identify new leases and maintain a database of all leases (vehicles, property, investment property, equipment).
  • Prepare year-end tax analysis (legal fees, capex, disallowable items) and respond to follow-up queries.
  • Own and update management charges and interest workings, including quarterly shareholder loan card reconciliations and intercompany interest calculations, plus ad-hoc financial analysis as required.

Key requirements:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • Significant audit experience and confidence in managing auditors and audit processes.
  • Expertise in IFRS standards (including IFRS 9, 15 and 16) and statutory financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to prepare financial statements and manage consolidations across multiple entities (CaseWare experience highly desirable).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
