SRG are working with a highly successful company that develop and manufacture a range of specialist coatings. They are now seeking a Senior Technical Service Manager to join their technical team in Cheshire East on a permanent basis. This role is designed for someone with strong management experience and will involve coordinating and leading a small technical service team and supporting with short term NPD projects to drive results across the business. This role will suit candidates with recent and proven industrial experience in leadership, as well as being a main point of contact for external customers and clients and hold a strong R&D background. Experience within coatings and adhesives is desirable but not essential.

Role/Description
- Lead the Technical Service team through effective workload planning, delegation, performance management and coaching.
- Prioritise and manage technical service requests to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery.
- Drive new product development to meet customer needs.
- Track and improve team KPIs.
- Manage and develop three direct reports, ensuring strong performance and collaboration.
- Ensure laboratory testing meets agreed standards and aligns with customer and business requirements.
- Coordinate workloads and resources with the directors, technical teams and wider stakeholders.
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all H&S, training and compliance standards are met.
- Conduct and oversee laboratory tests in line with established protocols.
- Support and lead trials in production and at customer sites when required.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry (or similar)
- Proven industrial experience of technical service and R&D (coatings and adhesives experience is desirable but not essential)
- Proven management/leadership experience
- Skilled at coaching, developing and managing technical staff.
- Ability to prioritise multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
