Teaching Role - Special School (Full-Time)Location: West Midlands Start Date: ASAP or September 2026 Contract Type: Long-term / Permanent Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN AllowanceAre you a passionate, nurturing and resilient teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? An outstanding special school is seeking a dedicated teacher to join their team and provide high‑quality education to pupils with diverse learning needs.About the SchoolThis role is based within a specialist setting, similar to the many SEND provisions across the Black Country, such as:
- Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) specialist provisions - supporting pupils with communication and interaction needs, sensory processing differences and structured routines.
- SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) schools - working with children who may have experienced trauma, attachment needs, anxiety, emotional dysregulation or behavioural challenges.
- SLD/MLD (Severe or Moderate Learning Difficulties) settings - supporting pupils with significant cognitive delay who learn best through repetition, structure, life skills learning and highly scaffolded teaching.
- PMLD (Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties) provisions - working with students who have complex medical needs, physical disabilities, communication barriers and require a holistic, sensory‑based curriculum.
- Specialist alternative provision - supporting children permanently excluded from mainstream schooling who need therapeutic, relationship‑based approaches to rebuild trust and engagement.

- Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons tailored to each pupil's needs
- Support pupils with SEND such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, SLD or complex needs
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, parents and external agencies
- Use creative, practical and therapeutic approaches to support learning
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and independence
- Track progress and contribute to EHCP targets and reviews
What We're Looking For
- QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (ECTs welcome)
- Experience in a special school, alternative provision or mainstream SEN setting (desirable, not essential)
- A compassionate, patient and enthusiastic approach
- Strong behaviour management and adaptability
- A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children with SEND
