We are looking for a caring, reliable and flexible Personal Assistant to support our 14-year-old daughter, who has special needs and multiple physical care requirements. This is a rewarding role for someone with a calm, patient and bubbly personality who enjoys working with children and being part of a family support network.
Hours:
8 hours per week
Working days and times:
Monday: 08:00 – 09:30 and 15:00 – 17:30
Tuesday: 08:00 – 09:30 and 15:00 – 17:30
Please note: You must be flexible on Mondays and Tuesdays to accommodate changes when our child is unwell (approximately 50% of the time).
When she is ill, working hours will usually be 12:00 – 16:00 on Monday and Tuesday.

About the person being supported
The role is to support our 14-year-old daughter in her daily routine. She requires assistance with personal care, health needs and age-appropriate activities in a supportive, respectful and engaging way.
Job Description / Main Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Getting the child ready for school
Personal care including washing and brushing teeth
Catheterisation (Mitrofanoff)
Changing stoma bag
Ironing school uniform and dressing the child
Preparing, feeding and clearing away breakfast
Tidying up after tasks
Collecting from school
After-school care including washing, catheterisation and stoma care if required
Preparing and feeding tea
Playing and engaging in activities
Supporting with homework
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who is:
Female
Empathetic, caring and patient, with a bubbly personality
Fast-thinking and calm in emergencies
Able to administer medication
Accepting and respectful of different religions and cultures
Able to cook basic Pakistani/Indian food
Qualifications / Skills / Training Required
Trained in catheterisation for Mitrofanoff
Colostomy trained
Awareness of epilepsy
Additional Information
Pets in the household: 1 cat
Driving licence required: Yes
Non-smoker required
Smoking during work hours (including outside): Not permitted
Must be able to get on well with the family, twin sister, other carers and neighbours
