Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Mayfair, City of London
Sector: Prime & Super Prime Residential / Commercial

The Role

Reporting to the Project Commercial Lead, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will work closely with the Project Manager and wider commercial team, taking responsibility for the successful financial delivery of the project.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full commercial management under JCT Traditional Contract (with strong understanding of the differences between JCT Traditional and JCT Design & Build)

  • Leading procurement of multiple high-value, detailed and complex subcontract packages

  • Ongoing management of subcontractors, including valuations, variations, payments and final accounts

  • Preparation of CVRs, cashflows, directors' reports and all internal commercial reporting

  • Assessment and administration of subcontractor claims, including issuing notices upstream and downstream

  • Successful administration of loss and expense claims

  • Chairing commercial meetings and leading the project commercially

  • Managing and mentoring an existing on-site QS team

  • Producing and presenting commercial elements of monthly client reports and CVRs to directors

  • Daily liaison with the client and full professional team

What Our Client Is Looking For
  • A minimum of 15 years' as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally including time with Tier 1 Main Contractors

  • Strong background in High-End Residential, including Cut & Carve and New Build projects

  • Fully conversant in administering JCT Traditional contracts, with a solid understanding of D&B for comparison

  • Proven experience managing QS staff while running large, complex projects

  • Confident dealing directly with demanding clients and professional teams

  • Highly organised, commercially astute and capable of operating autonomously

  • Ability to commute to Mayfair (W1) within a maximum of 90 minutes each way

The Team & Project Environment

You will be joining an established commercial team already on the project, including a Commercial Lead and existing SQS/QS support. This role is a replacement position within a stable, well-structured team.

Package & Working Arrangement
  • Permanent, full-time role

  • Site based, five days per week

  • Salary dependent on experience
