We are seeking experienced clinicians to join our team as ADHD Clinical Assessors,
working on a self-employed, ad-hoc basis, to support our Children & Young People
ADHD assessment service.

The role involves undertaking clinical ADHD assessments and reaching diagnostic

arrangements.

Assessments are delivered primarily virtually, with face-to-face appointments offered
where clinically indicated or requested, including at our Basingstoke clinic.

Responsibilities:

Undertake clinical ADHD assessments for children and young people in line with NICE

Gather, review and integrate information from multiple sources

Formulate and record diagnostic conclusions within the ADHD assessment pathway

Communicate assessment outcomes clearly and sensitively to children, young people
and their families

Prepare and submit high-quality diagnostic reports within agreed timeframes

Contribute to MDT discussions where required to support care planning and onward
recommendations

Maintain accurate, timely and confidential clinical records

Work in line with all Skylight Psychiatry policies, procedures and core values

Join Slack, the platform used by the team to communicate service updates and key
information

Remain up to date with current research and best practice in ADHD assessment

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Professional qualification appropriate to undertaking ADHD diagnostic assessments
(for example: Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Clinical Psychology, Nursing or equivalent)

Registration with a relevant professional body, with no restrictions on practice

Demonstrable experience conducting ADHD diagnostic assessments with children and
young people

Strong understanding of child development and neurodevelopmental presentations

Experience applying diagnostic criteria and clinical judgement within structured
assessment pathways

Enhanced DBS clearance

In-date training in line with CSTF requirements

Excellent communication skills, particularly when working with families

Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a wider service
framework

Confidence in conducting assessments virtually

Remuneration and Practical Arrangements:

Competitive fee per completed ADHD assessment (inclusive of assessment
appointment(s), report writing and MDT contribution where required)

This role is offered on a self-employed basis; the postholder is responsible for their own
tax and national insurance arrangements

Assessments are delivered primarily virtually, with face-to-face assessments agreed in
advance where required

Clinic room bookings for in-person appointments will be managed by our administrative
team

Training on our patient record system will be provided

Invoicing is expected monthly

Travel and related expenses cannot be reimbursed

How to Apply:

Please submit your CV along with a covering note outlining your experience in children
and young people ADHD assessments, and an estimate of your availability for
assessments.

We value diversity and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
