Job Overview
Skylight Psychiatry Ltd is a forward-thinking, dynamic mental health service. We are a CQC-registered service delivering person-centred assessment, care and support, with the ultimate aim of improving the lives of people with neurodevelopmental conditions, including Autism, ADHD and Learning Disabilities.
We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented clinicians to join our team as ADOS Assessors, working on a self-employed, ad-hoc basis, to support our Children & Young People autism assessment service.
Work will be offered on an ad-hoc basis in line with service demand.
Please note: you must hold ADOS-2 certification and have at least one year’s experience administering ADOS-2 modules appropriate for children and young people to be considered for this role.
The successful candidate will conduct Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) assessments with children and young people in person at our Basingstoke clinic. Appointments will be offered and booked in line with service demand and may include appointments outside of usual business hours.
Responsibilities:
Conduct ADOS-2 assessments with children and young people in accordance with NICE guidance and service protocols
Prepare and submit the corresponding assessment report within the requested timeframe
Contribute assessment findings to the multidisciplinary team to support diagnostic decision-making, when required
Maintain accurate, timely and confidential patient records within the scope of the services being provided
Work in line with all Skylight Psychiatry policies, procedures and core values
Join Slack, the platform used by the team to communicate updates, reflect on practice and share learning
Remain up to date with current research and best practice in autism assessment
Opportunities will be made available, where possible, to attend relevant training
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Minimum one year’s experience working with children and/or young people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and conducting ADOS-2 assessments
ADOS-2 certification
Enhanced DBS clearance
Registration with a relevant professional body, with no restrictions on practice
In-date training in line with CSTF requirements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly when working with children and families
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Remuneration and Practical Arrangements:
Competitive fee per completed ADOS assessment (inclusive of appointment, report writing and MDT discussion where required)
This role is offered on a self-employed basis; the postholder is responsible for their own tax and national insurance arrangements
ADOS assessors are expected to provide their own equipment and assessment materials
Clinic room bookings will be managed by our administrative team
Training on our patient record system will be provided
Assessments will take place in person at our Basingstoke clinic, with all other duties undertaken remotely
Invoicing is required monthly
Travel and related expenses cannot be reimbursed
How to Apply:
Please submit your CV along with a covering note explaining your reasons for applying for this role and an estimate of your availability for assessments (for example, one weekend day per month or one weekend per month).
We value diversity and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
