Summary

Job Title: CNC Turner – Programmer / Setter Operator

Location: Birkenhead


Shift: Various shifts available


Salary: OTE £50,000 – £65,000

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced CNC Turner – Programmer / Setter Operator or Setter Operator to join a precision engineering team specialising in aerospace components. You’ll be working on Nakamura multi-axis CNC lathes with Fanuc controls, producing high-quality, precision components to tight tolerances. The role involves setting, programming, and optimising speeds and feeds for a range of materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set, operate, and program multi-axis CNC turning machines (Nakamura)


  • Program and edit using Fanuc controls


  • Produce high-precision aerospace components to strict tolerances


  • Calculate and optimise speeds and feeds for different materials and cutting conditions


  • Maintain quality and accuracy throughout the machining process


  • Work collaboratively with the team to meet production schedules


  • Follow health, safety, and operational procedures at all times


    Skills & Experience Required
    • Proven experience as a CNC Turner – Programmer / Setter Operator or Setter Operator


    • Strong experience on Nakamura multi-axis lathes


    • Confident programming and editing on Fanuc controls


    • Experience machining aerospace components is a strong advantage


    • Strong understanding of precision measurement, tolerances, and quality standards


    • Ability to confidently calculate and apply speeds and feeds


    • Reliable team player with a proactive approach


      Benefits
      • OTE £50,000 – £65,000 depending on shift and experience


      • Overtime paid at x1.5


      • 25 days holiday + statutory bank holidays
