Summary

Job Title: CNC Miller Programmer


Location: Birkenhead


Pay: £18.00 per hour (negotiable for highly skilled candidates – up to £19.50 per hour)


Job Type: Full-time, Permanent


Hours: 38 hours per week

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm


  • Friday: 8:00am – 2:00pm


  • Regular overtime available – paid at 1.5x hourly rate


  • 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)


    About the Role

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller Programmer/Setter to join a well-established precision engineering firm based in Birkenhead.

    If you have strong experience with Hurco WinMax and Fanuc controls, and are confident using CAD/CAM software such as OneCNC and SolidWorks, this could be an excellent next step in your career.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines (Hurco & Fanuc)


    • Creating and improving CNC programs both on-machine and offline


    • Machining one-off, high-precision components unaided from a drawing


    • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to produce high-quality components


    • Carrying out routine machine maintenance


    • Ensuring all work meets internal quality standards


    • Liaising with colleagues and the production team to meet deadlines and resolve issues efficiently


      Essential Experience & Skills
      • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a CNC Miller Programmer


      • Strong programming skills, ideally using Hurco WinMax and Fanuc controls


      • Competent with CAD/CAM software, particularly OneCNC and SolidWorks


      • Solid mechanical knowledge and understanding of machining principles


      • Strong attention to detail


      • Ability to work independently


        Qualifications
        • Certificate of Higher Education or equivalent preferred


        • Relevant technical training and/or a time-served apprenticeship in engineering or machining
