Summary
This post is for a Band 3 Apprentice Healthcare Assistant to work as part of a multidisciplinary team within our theatres and will participate in the assessment of patient care needs and implement and maintain the agreed standards of care. This is predominantly a role based in the Holding Bay and Reception areas. Within the role you will provide administrative support to the Team Leaders within theatres and to ensure smooth running of the theatre department. In addition to this you will be carrying out checks with patients and preparing them for theatre. You will need to demonstrate clear knowledge of the systems used within Theatres.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Theatre Health Care Assistant who works with ‘PRIDE’ to join our dedicated team at Queens Hospital BHRUT. You will support the Theatre Team in providing a high-quality service in line with all Theatres and Trust Policies and Procedures.
We have 16 operating theatres with various specialties including Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, ENT, Trauma, Gynaecology, Maxillofacial, Pain and obstetrics and work across two sites Queens Hospital and King Georges Hospital. You will be committed to clinical excellence, with effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. You should have a flexible approach to working hours and be prepared to develop further skills within the operating department.
To assist in the delivery of safe, high-quality care for all patients and work as part of a cohesive multidisciplinary team, undertaking delegated limited clinical care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.
The postholder will demonstrate a level of skill and understanding, enabling them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the nurse in charge and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies. They will undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.
