Overview

  • Two national membership bodies are undertaking a significant merger and are recruiting an experienced Senior Programme Manager to oversee and drive the integration programme. This role sits at the centre of organisational change, ensuring alignment of people, systems, processes and governance as the organisations transition into a new entity.
  • Working closely with the Deputy Chief Executive, Transition Director and senior SROs, you will lead programme planning, delivery oversight, reporting, risk management and governance across multiple workstreams.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Implement a consistent programme and project management approach across all workstreams.
  • Lead planning, tracking and monitoring of the merger programme, ensuring proactive identification of risks, issues and required actions.
  • Produce clear performance information and reports to support timely decision‑making by senior governance groups (Group Executive, workstream SROs)
  • Ensure effective governance structures and information flows across the transition programme.
  • Coordinate the handover from external consultants to internal leads.
  • Provide targeted support to workstreams on engagement activity, organisational design, operating model work and process development.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders and support resolution of cross‑programme challenges.

Skills and experience required

  • Demonstrable experience of mergers, transitions or organisational change.
  • Strong programme and project management capability within complex organisations.
  • Ability to work across multi‑disciplinary workstreams (comms, HR, finance, legal, governance, operating model).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem‑solving skills.
