Summary
Luma Education Recruitment is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in the Walthamstow/Redbridge area. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with additional needs and help them reach their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCPs
Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
Promote positive behaviour and inclusion within the classroom
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents/carers
Assist with classroom preparation and learning activities
Support pupils during playtimes and transitions where required
The Ideal Candidate will have
Experience working with children with SEN (desirable but not essential)
A patient, caring and empathetic approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable
Safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide suitable references.
£100-£115 per day.
