Job Description
We are looking for a female, reliable, patient, and committed Personal Assistant (PA) to support a female client with sight impairment and diabetes in her own home.
Contract Type
Permanent
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide safe, respectful, and person-centred care
Assist with medication and eye drops as trained
Monitor and report blood sugar levels
Prepare light meals/snacks as required
Support independence while ensuring safety
Be punctual, reliable, and consistent
The PA will provide support with daily living tasks, including:
Support with morning and evening routines
Medication support, including:
Administering eye drops (evening)
Supporting with medication boxes (hard to open)
Diabetes management:
Evening: blood sugar level check
Liaising with district nurse as required
Support with meal preparation
Support with shopping
Support to attend church
Assistance due to sight impairment and language barrier
Specific Requirements
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who is:
Patient, reliable, and trustworthy
Committed (not flaky)
Flexible with hours
Experienced supporting people with sight impairment
Confident with medication support
Able to cook simple meals
Portuguese speaking (essential)
Female PA preferred
Required Training
Experience in care or as a PA
Medication training (or willingness to complete)
Experience supporting people with diabetes
Understanding of sight impairment support

Hourly Rate £12.60
Hours Per Week: 10 hours per week
How will the hours be used: 30 mins morning, 30 mins evening + going out in community/church/shops etc.
