**Important notice**
In line with our redeployment policy, we’ll prioritise applications from National Trust employees who are under formal notice of redundancy.

We’re looking for a Community, Participation & Volunteering Co-ordinator to help us build meaningful relationships, create inclusive opportunities, and inspire civic action across our portfolio. This is a chance to make a real difference, bringing people together to restore nature, celebrate heritage, and create lasting change.

What it's like to work here
Mottisfont is a romantic house and gallery set in beautiful riverside gardens. Ancient trees, bubbling brooks and rolling lawns frame this lovely old house. Crafted from a medieval priory, it is full of surprises, with art that intrigues and delights. Visitors come back throughout the year to see different exhibitions in the gallery and the latest installations by our artists in residence.

What you'll be doing
You’ll lead on community engagement and volunteering, helping the National Trust embed itself at the heart of the community. You’ll build partnerships, create inclusive volunteering experiences, and support community-led activities and events that help us restore nature and heritage.

You’ll coach colleagues, embed best practice, and ensure systems and data are well managed. You’ll work to remove barriers to access, making sure underrepresented voices are heard and involved.

Using insight and relationships, you’ll help shape strategic decisions and test new approaches to participation—connecting people with places and creating lasting public benefit.

You'll also support the operation with Duty Management responsibilities on a rota basis. Remembering our busiest periods are holidays and weekends.
