The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for the project management of major projects on a day to day basis, primarily the management and organisation of Waste Reduction, innovation and transformation projects. The post holder will develop and deliver effective processes, procedures and management tools to enable project delivery. The Project Manager will develop frameworks within which agreed project outcomes can be delivered. To manage and monitor the delivery of one or more projects To provide support to the Estates & Facilities waste reduction programme. To manage and monitor the delivery of projects to agreed time, cost and quality standards To identify sufficient and appropriate resources required to be allocated to projects, both within the project team and across the wider organisation To manage the development and implementation of appropriate and effective project structures To manage the development and implementation of appropriate and effective project control mechanisms, including programme management, risk management, cost control, variation management and change control, construction monitoring and post project evaluation To identify and record project issues and risks and recommend suitable courses of action for resolution and mitigation To report effectively to the Senior Management Teams within the Estates and Facilities and other key stakeholders within the projects. To monitor the delivery of agreed projects within Estates & Facilities and liaising across the wider organisation. To motivate and direct the input of individuals contributing to the project To identify and obtain any support and advice required for the management, planning and control of projects To be responsible for project administration Liaise with operational teams and stakeholders to ensure that objectives are met What youll be doing Youll support the planning, delivery and monitoring of projects across Estates & Facilities, helping to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved. Key aspects of the role include: Managing and monitoring one or more projects from initiation through to delivery and evaluation Supporting the Trusts Estates & Facilities waste reduction programme, helping to drive sustainable and cost effective solutions Developing, implementing and maintaining effective project controls, including risk, issue, cost, change and programme management Contributing to key project documentation such as briefs, business cases, procurement documents and reports Monitoring project costs and supporting financial control and authorisation processes Identifying issues and risks, proactively recommending solutions and mitigation actions Coordinating and monitoring the input of external advisors, contractors and internal teams Producing clear, accurate and timely reports for senior managers and key stakeholders to support learning and improvement Were looking for someone who brings energy, organisation and curiosity to their work and who is keen to develop further as a project management professional. Youll ideally have: Experience working in a project management or project support role, within healthcare or another complex organisation A degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) and training in project or programme management techniques A working knowledge of risk and issue management, and an understanding of project procurement processes Strong organisational skills, with the ability to juggle priorities and meet demanding deadlines Excellent communication and relationship building skills, enabling you to work effectively with colleagues at all levels The confidence to analyse complex information, make recommendations and deal constructively with challenge or resistance
