Do you have the passion and skills to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing nature and climate? Many of these challenges are complex and long-term, and our systems change campaigning function works with colleagues across the RSPB to tackle them head on.What’s the role aboutThis role will initially lead a new campaign to drive systemic change that generates public and political support for the UK’s most important areas for nature, but may lead other systems change campaigns in future years. For further insight in to this role please see attached recruitment pack.In this role, key activities will include:• Co-creating and leading long-term system change campaigns on behalf of the RSPB, working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation.• Facilitating the development of shared objectives and effective decision-making through strong key senior internal and external relationships, amongst other pressing priorities• Driving the roll out of systems change campaigns in all four countries of the UK• Recruiting and line managing professional volunteers to provide expert guidance or deliver campaigns. • Maintaining technical expertise and analysis of external context relating to the current campaign and challenges facing nature, and up to date best practice in campaigning. • Ensuring compliance with legal, Charity Commission, and internal policy on campaigning standards.• Ensuring compliance with legal, Charity Commission, and internal policy on campaigning standards.What we need from you:• A passion for nature, to tackle the challenges facing it, and for campaigning! • Relevant experience to effectively deliver the responsibilities and tasks of this role, including demonstrable senior-level campaigning experience.• Ability not only see the big picture and understand and work to change complex systems affecting nature - but to galvanise others behind a shared commitment to what needs to happen• Ability to direct where, when and how to apply campaigning pressure for maximum impact, and experience of a variety of creative offline and offline campaign approaches.• Ability to drive forward work in a complex, large organization and through a four-country operating model, including excellent organisational skills and confidence in navigating multi-disciplinary discussions. • Excellent time management skills to focus own time on the highest priorities.Additional InformationThis is a Permanent Full-Time role for 37.5 hours per week.This role is a flexible role with the option of working 'hybrid' at one of our offices as well as from home.Before applying for this role please read through the candidate guidance notes attached to this advert.In order to apply you will be required to upload a CV and complete an application form where in the 'About You; section you will have the opportunity to explain how you meet the criteria set above.For all application/role enquiries please contact: sarah.wiggins@rspb.org.ukInterviews for this position will be held on: 25th February 2026We are committed to developing an inclusive and diverse RSPB, in which everyone feels supported, valued, and able to be their full selves.
