Primary Teacher (Year 2/3)

Competitive daily rate

South Cambridge

Are you an experienced primary educator with the versatility to lead a mixed-age classroom and inspire students across Key Stages 1 and 2?

Do you have a background in managing transitional learning stages and are looking for a stable role that offers either Full-Time or Job-Share flexibility?

Are you ready to bring your passion for pupil progress to a supportive and inclusive school community in East Cambridge?

If you are a dedicated QTS holder who can deliver tailored instruction and lead subject development, we want to hear from you!

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Primary Teacher to join a welcoming school in South Cambridge. This role involves teaching a mixed Year 2/3 class and is open to both full-time applicants and those seeking a 2:3 day job-share split. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between KS1 and KS2, ensuring every child-from those with SEND to the Gifted and Talented-reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tailored Instruction: Plan and deliver the National Curriculum to a mixed Year 2/3 group, ensuring age-appropriate acceleration and a smooth transition between key stages.
  • Inclusive Education: Manage diverse classroom needs, including pupils with SEND, speech and language challenges, and those on the Gifted and Talented register.
  • Curriculum Development: Lead and audit specific subject areas-such as Numeracy, History, or PSHE-to drive high standards across the school.
  • Assessment & Progress: Conduct regular observations and rigorous assessments to monitor pupil growth, providing data for Governor-led monitoring sessions.
  • Professional Collaboration: Work closely with your job-share partner (if applicable) and subject coordinators to maintain a seamless and consistent learning experience.
  • Extra-Curricular Engagement: Contribute to the wider school life, potentially supporting arts clubs, sports, or wellbeing initiatives like yoga.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Must hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), PGCE, or equivalent.
  • Proven Experience: Significant experience teaching across the primary age range, specifically with a strong understanding of KS1 and KS2 expectations.
  • SEND Expertise: Proficiency in identifying student needs and supporting statemented pupils or those with challenging behaviors.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with parents, governors, and the wider village community.
  • Faith-Based Understanding: A Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS) is highly desirable, though not essential, for this faith-aligned role.
  • Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
What We Offer
  • Competitive Daily Rates: Recognizing your experience and subject leadership potential.
  • Work-Life Balance: The rare opportunity for a stable 2:3 day job-share split in a high-achieving setting.
  • Professional Growth: A clear pathway to subject leadership roles and career advancement within a supportive environment.
  • Access to CPD: Full access to Randstad's premium training library to keep your skills at the cutting edge.
  • £300 Refer A Friend: Reward scheme for any successful referrals you bring to the team.
