A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Primary Teacher to join a welcoming school in South Cambridge. This role involves teaching a mixed Year 2/3 class and is open to both full-time applicants and those seeking a 2:3 day job-share split. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between KS1 and KS2, ensuring every child-from those with SEND to the Gifted and Talented-reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Tailored Instruction: Plan and deliver the National Curriculum to a mixed Year 2/3 group, ensuring age-appropriate acceleration and a smooth transition between key stages.
- Inclusive Education: Manage diverse classroom needs, including pupils with SEND, speech and language challenges, and those on the Gifted and Talented register.
- Curriculum Development: Lead and audit specific subject areas-such as Numeracy, History, or PSHE-to drive high standards across the school.
- Assessment & Progress: Conduct regular observations and rigorous assessments to monitor pupil growth, providing data for Governor-led monitoring sessions.
- Professional Collaboration: Work closely with your job-share partner (if applicable) and subject coordinators to maintain a seamless and consistent learning experience.
- Extra-Curricular Engagement: Contribute to the wider school life, potentially supporting arts clubs, sports, or wellbeing initiatives like yoga.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Must hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), PGCE, or equivalent.
- Proven Experience: Significant experience teaching across the primary age range, specifically with a strong understanding of KS1 and KS2 expectations.
- SEND Expertise: Proficiency in identifying student needs and supporting statemented pupils or those with challenging behaviors.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with parents, governors, and the wider village community.
- Faith-Based Understanding: A Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS) is highly desirable, though not essential, for this faith-aligned role.
- Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
