We are excited to offer three Senior Pharmacist and Academic Link roles. This unique opportunity offers the successful applicant a split role working three days a week within one of our specialist pharmacy teams based at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and two days a week with the academic team at King’s College London.

Acute and General Medicine:

The Acute and General Medicine Pharmacy Team is one of the largest within the department providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy services across the Integrated and Specialist Medicine directorate. This role has a focus on the delivery and development of services to the fast paced and dynamic emergency pathway.

Medication Safety:

Led by our Consultant Pharmacist, the Medicines Safety Team works across all the Trust sites to support the safe use of medicines. The ongoing work of the team supports our reputation for excellence in patient safety. You will be working closely with colleagues in clinical and digital services and the Trust Quality and Assurance directorate focusing on systems, human factors and risk to develop safer medicines use across all settings.

Education and Training:

The Pharmacy E+T Team lead and develop our programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate students, trainee and foundation training, pharmacy technician and early careers pharmacists. This role has a focus on the ongoing development of our undergraduate MPharm placements and postgraduate programmes.



Academic Link at King’s College London:

The Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (IPS) at King’s College London is ranked 5th in the UK for the MPharm programme and is a globally leading centre for research and training in pharmacy and pharmaceutical science. The IPS hosts a highly regarded MPharm degree and range of postgraduate courses including Independent Prescribing. Each of the roles advertised has an integral focus on the ongoing delivery and development of the undergraduate MPharm programme, curriculum and placement provision and will be acting as a module/professional lead. IPS also benefits from unique partnerships with pharmacists working within King’s Health Partners through the Pharmaceutical Science Clinical Academic Group. The roles are ideal for a passionate pharmacist eager to shape and advance the future of pharmacy education and inspire the next generation of pharmacy professionals.

We will ask you at interview which of the above three roles you wish to be considered for and to indicate your preferences for these. The precise split in days between the roles at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College London would be a flexible arrangement but with defined days of the week between each. Further information will be provided at interview and discussed following an offer.

Full-Time Role - 5 Days a Week (37.5 Hours/Week) (2 Days at KCL, 3 Days at GSTT)

2) Senior Pharmacist for Medication Safety and KCL Academic Link:

Full-Time Role - 5 Days a Week (37.5 Hours/Week) (2 Days at KCL, 3 Days at GSTT)

3) Highly Specialist Pharmacist for Acute & Emergency Medicine and KCL Academic Link

Part-Time Role – 4 Days a Week (30 Hours/Week) (2 Days at KCL, 2 Days at GSTT)
