Behaviour Teaching Assistant - North London
Full-Time | Long-Term | £95 - £114.55 per day
Start: ASAP or January 2026
ANZUK Education is working with a supportive and well-resourced North London special school that caters for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, learning disabilities, social communication difficulties and behaviours that may challenge. The school provides a nurturing, structured environment and benefits from a dedicated multidisciplinary team who work together to create meaningful, personalised learning experiences for every child.
We are seeking a calm, resilient and proactive Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a small class supporting pupils who require consistent emotional regulation, positive behaviour support and tailored communication approaches. You will help deliver structured routines, implement behaviour support plans, use de-escalation strategies and assist pupils in developing self-regulation and positive engagement in learning.
The role also involves building strong, trusting relationships, supporting pupils through moments of heightened emotion, and working closely with the class teacher, therapists and senior staff to ensure consistency and safety. Creativity, patience and an understanding of trauma-informed approaches are highly valued.
This role is ideal for someone who is empathetic, confident under pressure and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and experience success at school.
