Information Rights, Legislation and Ministerial Correspondence Caseworker – Role Overview
The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) are looking to hire an Information Rights, Legislation and Ministerial Correspondence Caseworker to join the Information Rights and Ministerial Correspondence Team within Corporate Communications. You will play a pivotal role in contributing to high-level correspondence, shaping how we respond to public interest and manage sensitive communications effectively.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who already has a keen eye on the political landscape and are looking to develop their correspondence and communication skills further. You will gain a broad and valuable skillset of various access requests such as Freedom of Information (FOI) and Data Protection, as well as excellent exposure and collaboration with senior level stakeholders.

Information Rights, Legislation and Ministerial Correspondence Caseworker – Key responsibilities
- Monitor the political landscape to identify topics of public interest and managing communications effectively.
- Work flexibly between the Freedom of Information (FOI), Data Protection and Ministerial Correspondence functions.
- Support the wider team in maintaining and assuring deliverables to a high standard of quality within set statutory and internal timeframes.
- Research and establish information held in relation to FOI and Subject Access Requests (SAR).
- Establishing relationships and communicating effectively with colleagues at all levels, is therefore a key requirement.
- May involve some line management responsibilities.
- Work as part of a team to monitor and triage incoming work via busy inboxes.
- Draft clear and accurate responses which comply with legislation, in plain English.
- Be responsible for own case administration, and support others when need arises.
- Be aware of risk and escalate to senior members of the team quickly and effectively.
