Our Grantham based client; an award-winning logistics company is looking for a passionate professional to head up their Transport division. If you are ready to provide leadership, focusing on the customer requirements and operational performance we want to hear from you. As the Transport Manager you will take full ownership of the busy pallet network.
Some Key Responsibilities will be:
• Manage KPI’s and operational costs in line with budgets and forecast
• Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of all customer orders and manage their expectations.
• Manage the staffing needs of the Transport department, including recruitment, annual leave, and training.
• Be first contact for Health and Safety, environment, and compliance, fostering an excellent safety culture within the department.
• Monitor and ensure orders are uploaded onto the in-house traffic system and deal with customer queries.
• Act as the nominated Transport Manager to ensure legal compliance for the operation.
• Maintain vehicle and drivers’ legal compliance, ensuring that all vehicles and trailers are presented to perioding
• inspections and annual MOTs.
• Ensure that any Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive infringements are managed, and all colleagues are provided with the correct equipment and training to complete tasks.
• Provide reports and statistical analysis as and when required by the senior management team
To be considered for the role candidates must have proven experience in logistics and transport management within a fast-moving distribution or FMCG operation. Intermediate Excel, and MS Office skills are essential. CPC qualification advantageous but not essential.
