Key responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of best practice timed diagnostic pathways to ensure timely and efficient endoscopy services for suspected cancer patients. This includes reducing variation, improving patient experience, and meeting the Faster Diagnosis Standard (FDS) of providing a diagnosis or ruling out cancer within 28 days from referral Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to ensure the successful implementation of pathway improvements. This involves engaging with multidisciplinary teams, auditing pathways, and sharing successes to maintain morale and motivation Analyse performance data related to Endoscopy and the suspected cancer pathway, including DM01and FDS performance, to identify areas for improvement. Provide regular reports to stakeholders and use data to drive decision-making and pathway optimisation Provide leadership and project management for pathway improvement initiatives. This includes setting up project management resources, ensuring leadership, and coordinating efforts across different teams and departments Ensure that pathway improvements are in line with existing guidelines such as NICE Guidelines and British Society of Gastroenterology guidelines. This involves staying updated with the latest guidance and incorporating it into pathway design Support with demand and capacity management to ensure that key performance targets are achieved in an efficient and cost effective manner. This is enabled by monitoring and understanding of referral demand trends as well as effective rota management to maximise productivity and utilisation. Have a clear oversight of the Endoscopy waiting list, ensure that patients are prioritised correctly and procedures are booked within appropriate timelines to maximise clinical outcomes, mitigate risks and maintain compliance against local and national performance targets. Manage Endoscopy waiting list through regular validation and coordinated clinical review process, ensuring data quality and enabling streamlined clinical prioritisation. Liaise with data assurance team and promote data quality best practice to support administrative team with relevant workflows.
