Summary
As one of our administrators, you will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive administrative support service to our patients and the Specialist Screening Practitioner Nurses (SSPs) ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the service. You will be part of a small but dynamic team involved in screening patients for bowel cancer and Lynch syndrome disease.
Our service has recently expanded its scope to younger age groups in West London and is also a designate centre for another national pilot programme known as FIT 80. This will start in March 2026. Valuable development opportunities will be available for the right candidate.
• To provide an effective and courteous reception service to patients and staff visiting in person or via phone/ electronic means.
• To liaise with the London Programme Hub, BCS Coordinator, BCSP Programme Manager and Lead SSP to ensure that slots are used effectively and ensure extra clinics/lists are available to cover changes in demand and capacity.
• Manage and arrange patient activity and special requests within the screening programme (this includes interpreter requirements).
• The preparation for screening clinics & procedure lists including patient/subject notes retrieval, prepared documents for SSPs and tracking of patient’s progress within the screening pathway.
• Update and maintain all databases in a timely fashion (Bowel Cancer Screening System- BCSS, Endoscopy-Scorpio and Cerner); ensure accuracy of data in line with the Trust's information governance rules.
• To assist in audit and data collection relating to the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme and local screening centre.
• Assist with the monitoring of waiting times targets and escalate risks relating to patient pathways and waiting times to the Programme Manager.
• Assist with maintenance of surveillance & follow up screening patients.
• Provide cover for other administrator/s as appropriate
