Senior HR Advisor – Nottingham (Riverside & Tottle Bakeries)
Salary: £37,000
Contract: Permanent

If you’re passionate about employee relations, engagement and coaching leaders to be their best, this could be your next move.
We’re looking for a Senior HR Advisor to join our team at The Compleat Food Group, supporting both Riverside and Tottle Bakery.
You’ll provide expert HR guidance, lead on day-to-day employee relations, support site engagement activities, and drive a positive
and collaborative working culture.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead on Employee Relations & Engagement
* Manage day-to-day ER cases (disciplinary, grievance, long-term sick, performance).
* Identify ER trends and recommend actions for improvement.
* Lead consultation processes including redundancy, TUPE and changes to terms.
* Build strong relationships with union representatives and provide expert guidance.
* Support or lead HR projects including engagement, process improvements and organisational change.
* Analyse HR metrics such as turnover and absenteeism to help drive site performance.
Support the Site People Plan
* Work with the HRBP to deliver the site People Plan.
* Lead or support Group and local HR initiatives.
* Support local charity, volunteering and wellbeing activities.
Talent, Development & Coaching
* Partner with our agency to ensure compliance and maintain a strong labour pipeline.
* Support talent mapping, succession planning and development activities.
* Coach operational leaders on all people processes including ER, performance, OH referrals, absence and reviews.
Compliance & Governance
* Escalate complex cases when appropriate and access ER/Legal support where needed.
* Support SEDEX preparation, SAQs and audits.
* Complete internal audits including Right to Work, agency checks and modern slavery compliance.
* Maintain accurate HR data, trackers and reporting.
* May contribute to TACCP or internal audit activities.
Flexibility
This role will be expected to step up to cover the HRBP when required and step down to support as HR Advisor during busy periods.
What We’re Looking For
* CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience).
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience handling ER cases in a fast-paced environment (ideally FMCG).
* Strong working knowledge of UK employment law.
* Confident working with HR systems (HRIS, ATS, payroll or time & attendance).
* Excellent communicator with the ability to influence, build trust and coach managers.
* Strong problem-solving, judgement and organisational skills.
* Ability to analyse HR data and provide meaningful insights.
