Hours: 37 per week (Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00)
Contract Duration: 24 November 2025 – 06 February 2026

About the Role
Achieving for Children is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join the Duty and Assessment team on a temporary basis, covering maternity/paternity leave.
This is a frontline role where you will be responsible for undertaking assessments, managing caseloads, and ensuring timely interventions to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and families.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out duty and assessment work, including initial assessments and Section 47 enquiries
Manage a varied caseload, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and local procedures
Work collaboratively with families, partner agencies, and multi-disciplinary teams
Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations and reports for decision-making panels and courts
Contribute to service improvement and uphold professional standards
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with registration to Social Work England
Proven experience in duty and assessment or similar frontline social work roles
Access to a car and a valid driver’s licence (essential)
Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, child protection procedures, and best practice
Ability to work under pressure, manage complex cases, and deliver high-quality outcomes
