Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Start in January

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-time / Term-time only

Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? We're looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant secondary school in Newcastle from January 2026. This is your chance to start the year making a real difference in students' lives.

What You'll Do
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN (including autism, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties).
- Assist teachers in adapting lessons to meet individual needs.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.

What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based experience is a bonus!).
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 TA or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
